The Wherry Lines Railway
Norwich to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft

The Wherry Lines Railways can transport you from the magnificent city of Norwich to the Lively East Coast resorts of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft through the Eastern section of the Norfolk Broads and along the rivers Wensum, Waveney and Yare.

Norfolk Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve

To experience the very best of Norfolk's wildlife, visit one of our nature reserves, at the broads, the coast, heath or woodland. NWT Cley Marshes on the north Norfolk coast is a birding Mecca, flush with unusual wading and breeding birds. NWT Ranworth Broad and NWT Hickling Broad are both wonderful days out for the family or the naturalist, with boat trips and some of the best views in Norfok. NWT Foxley Wood is ancient woodland at its best alive with birdsong and bathed in flowers. Or visit NWT Weeting Heath, famous for its rare Breckland fauna and the extraordinary Stone Curlew.

Bure Valley Railway Railway

Norfolk's longest narrow gauge heritage railway through 9 miles of beautiful Norfolk countryside between Aylsham and Wroxham. Family fares, children under five travel free (except Special event days). Combine a steam train ride from Aylsham with a cruise on the Norfolk Broads, advance booking required. Visit Aylsham's Whistlestop Restaurant, souvenir shop, model railway shop and railway workshop.

Alby Crafts and Garden Craft Centre

Alby Crafts is a unique collection of individual businesses working in beautifully restored farm buildings and surrounded by four acres of outstanding gardens and ponds.

Broadland Cycle Hire Cycle Hire

Explore quiet countryside around the Norfolk Broads. Hire adult and child bikes, tag-along trailers, child seats and tandems. Helmets, locks, pumps provided. Free route maps. In Bewilderwood car park, A1062 between Hoveton and Horning (BeWILDerwood entry not required). Open daily 10am-5pm, Easter to end Oct. Other times by appointment.

Bewilderwood Adventure Park/ Playground

50 acres of wild, imaginative, outdoor adventure. Treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges, Crocklebogs, boat trips, marsh walks and really yummy food. Find us between Wroxham and Horning on the A1062. For opening times call us or visit our website.

Wroxham Barns Craft Centre

Our beautiful converted barns are home to beautiful and interesting crafts, tempting shops and welcoming tea-rooms. The resident craftsmen will create unique items before your eyes and are always happy to talk to you about their work. From pottery to stained glass, from quilts to traditionally pressed cider you are sure to find something to catch your eye.

Hoveton Hall Gardens Garden/ Garden Centre

Hoveton Hall Gardens, 15 acres of gardens. Formal and informal herbaceous borders, water gardens. Tearooms and plant sales.

Broads Tours Boat Trip

Broads Tours is the premier operator of passenger trip boats on the beautiful Norfolk Broads. Scheduled trips depart from either Wroxham or Potter Heigham. All trips include an informative and entertaining commentary. Light refreshments, and toilet facilities are available on all boats, with a licensed bar on Wroxham boats.

For the independent explorer we have a range of self drive craft that can be hired by the hour, half or full day.
Fineway Launch Hire Boat Hire

Enjoy a trip on the North Norfolk broads in one of our easy-to-drive, heated, all-weather day launches. These craft will seat from 2-11 people and are available by the hour, day or evening. Full tuition given if required.

Mississippi River Boat, The Boat Trip

A luxury double-decker paddle boat, sailing 3 times a day. Excellent commentary, beautiful views, bar on board, with snacks, souvenirs and freshly made tea and coffee available on each tour. Group discounts are offered, wheelchair access, however telephone bookings strongly recommended. The Mississippi is also available for private hire, weddings, birthday parties and special occassions.

RAF Air Defence Radar Museum Museum
Nr Wroxham

The RAF Air Defence Radar Museum, situated at RAF Neatishead, was opened in October 1994. The museum, a registered charity, traces the fascinating history and development of Air Defence Radar during the period 1935 to 1993.

The Museum of the Broads Museum

The Museum of the Broads is the only museum in the UK to chronicle man's effect upon the Broadland environment. A unique collection of artefacts,displays,videos, and things to do, specific to the Broads. From Reeds to Wherries, Nature to Boat building.

The Old Vicarage Garden/ Garden Centre

A remarkable 20 acre exotic garden separated into sections including the Tropical Borders, Mediterranean Garden, Sunken Garden, Autumn Borders, Kitchen Garden and Wildflower Meadows. A feast of formal design, decorative exuberance and brilliant planting with many unusual tender plants. Included in Best 50 Grdens in Europe by the Independent newspaper in July 2003.

Malcolm Flatman specialises in practical, affordable, and repeatable tableware, but also makes many decorative pieces. His lamps are unusual and eye-catching. Malcolm prefers to begin all work on the potter's wheel initially, including special one-off orders, complete dinner services, lamps and decorative pieces

Delightful natural woodland & water garden in the Norfolk Broads. Famous for its collection of naturalised candelabra primulas, rare plants and shrubs. Rich in wildlife. Broadland Arts Centre Arts Centre/ Gallery

1 - 5 day painting, drawing and craft courses in Broads National Park, midway between Norwich and Cromer. A member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen; learn from resident artist, Angela Dammery and visiting specialist tutors; suitable for all ages and abilities; B&B facilities avaialble on site or from local recommendations in brochure.

Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens Animal Collection
Great Yarmouth
Find rare tigers, huge crocodiles, noisy gibbons and many more exciting animals in the old grounds of Thrigby Hall. Car parking is free. Bring a picnic. Play on the Tarzan nets, visit the large gift shop and Cockatoo Café. 'Best Value for Money in the Area'. Open daily from 10am.

Linda H Matthews Studio Arts Centre/ Gallery

Linda H. Matthews is a well known Norfolk Artist, she has appeared on local and national television talking about her work most recently on Anglia TV's Coastal Inspirations painting Cromer Pier en plein air on a cold november day. Her Studio on West Runton Common on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast is open to the public where you can see her working and a display of her finished work along with prints, cards and art materials for sale.
