Self Catering
That’s what it’s all about!
All of the Peninsula Cottages have the usual range of kitchen facilities needed for self-catering, and some of the cottage kitchens have been refurbished to a high standard in recent years (see individual cottage details). Grocery shopping is just a 10-minute walk over Wroxham Bridge to Roy’s supermarket. Cooking “at home” is very economical, and especially important for those with special dietary needs. However you are likely to want to eat out as a special treat or buy take-away cuisine to bring back and enjoy in your cottage. No problem!

Eating Out & Takeaways
The Shed. The Peninsula’s own on-site bistro which provides breakfasts, lunches and evening meals, and a Sunday carvery, for cottage guests and locals, and sometimes has live entertainment on Friday evenings.

Walking out to the main road brings you to The Bridge Restaurant “Home of the big fish!” offering breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and evening dinners with outside riverside terrace (01603 783509.)

On the other side of the road is The Wherrymans (01603 784041). Wide range of food and good range of pizza.

Crossing the bridge brings you to the Bridge Tea Rooms: fish & chips, cream teas, eat in or take away. Also in the town is Yankee candy & soda, Star of India (tucked away down a little alley just over the bridge), MacDonalds (01603 784397) (inside Roy’s Food Hall), Ken’s Traditional Fish & Chip shop (01603 784445), Grey’s traditional Fish & Chips and Royal Indian (Pizza & Kebab)

Other restaurants in the town include:
The Old Mill Restaurant & café bar: everything from breakfasts sandwiches and afternoon teas to lunches

Yim Siam Thai Restaurant (01603 781133). Serves traditional Thai cuisine, in the Riverside Centre shopping precinct, and the King’s Head Country Carvery & Hotel (01603 782429). Carvery everyday, and full bar menu. Large outside gardens right on the riverside.

Finally, directly facing the Peninsula site from the other side of the river is Hotel Wroxham – Sit in the window or out on the riverside terrace and you might be able to look across to your cottage
